Modi Sarkar: A Disaster in the Making

Merely ten days have elapsed since Modi's swearing-in ceremony on 26 May, 2014 but the signs are ominous - Modi Sarkar is heading for disaster and may well drag India down with it. Many of us who did not vote in Modi and the BJP should ideally have the right to relax and not spend sleepless nights as our conscience is clear, but the fear of the future of our beloved nation is what haunts us - and the following actions, stances and declarations by the Modi Sarkar and its symbiotic supporters have only added fuel to the fire:

(1) The Hindu Rashtra Sena, reportedly a sister organisation of the BJP, brutally murdered a Muslim techie in Pune because of a derogatory Facebook post against Bal Thackeray and Shivaji. Many more people may have been injured in the riots in Pune and the rest of Maharashtra. The FB post seems to be the handiwork of Pakistan's ISI and seems to be working well for them as Indian fascists are both morally and intellectually bankrupt. Meanwhile, Narendra Modi and the entire Modi Sarkar's deafening silence on the issue exposes their fascist mentality and is reminiscent of Manmohan Singh's silence on crucial issues.
(2) The Cyber Crime cell of the Goa Police had booked Devu Chodankar, a young engineer, for an anti-Modi Facebook post by treating it as an offence under sections 153A, 295A of IPC, section 125 of representation of the people act and section 66-A of IT Act.The post claimed that the BJP would commit a holocaust against Christians if they came to power. The post was written when the radical Pramod Muthalik had been inducted into the BJP despite telling Hindus in Goa to keep swords in their houses and use them against non-Hindus if necessary! And the same Goan cyber cell was purported to be inactive a few weeks before when they needed to arrest Meenakshi Lekhi, the BJP leader, for revealing the name of the Tehelka rape victim online. What about the thousands of online comments by Parivar activists threatening secularists, liberals and minorities with murder and rape if Modi Sarkar came to power? Why are these fascists not booked by state cyber cells?
(3) BJP is all set to implement the Uniform Civil Code in India and they have got the mandate to do that. It was mentioned in the manifesto and so now it will be difficult for minorities to protest when they are asked to do the "sat phere" in their marriage rituals or are not able to have two wives or have no legal right to say "talak" (Well, there were many brainwashed Christians, Muslims & Sikhs who also voted for Modi Sarkar, weren't there?)
(4) On his first day in office, Jitendra Singh, BJP minister in the PMO, stated that discussions had already begun on abrogation of Article 370, which provides a special status to Jammu and Kashmir. The lack of sensitivity and poor knowledge of historical context is clearly evident in the BJP's push for the repealing of Article 370.
(5) The Ram Mandir agitation was the catalyst for the newly formed BJP (actually renamed and remodelled after the Jan Sangh and the RSS became political untouchables for their erstwhile Paswan-like allies) in the 1980s from their low of 2 LS seats in 1984 and now this controversial issue is back in their manifesto despite the court verdict.
(6) Subramaniam Swamy, the senior BJP leader, has told Christians and Muslims to leave India unless they acknowledge their Hindu ancestry. So much for Modi's "India First" policy.
(7) Online RSS activists continue to make blatant threats on major internet websites against minorities, liberals and secularists for not subscribing to the fascist views of the Sangh.
(8) In the first time in its history, India has elected someone accused of mass murder as its PM. What if Modi is found guilty of masterminding the 2002 riots, killing Haren Pandya for revealing his complicity, instigating the fake encounters in Gujarat and ordering acts of espionage - would he be arrested while in office? - And as PM couldn't he and his accomplice, Amit Shah, scuttle the probes?
(9) Yes, major media houses are controlled by Ambani and other well-wishers of Narendra Modi which didn't cover the stories of Ambani's son in a road accident and the Gujarat riots or didn't debate the controversial Article 370, the uniform civil code and Ram Mandir issues  that were in the BJP manifesto - and by ignoring these issues didn't they connive to usher in Modi Sarkar?
(10) The corporate businesses of Ambani and Adani group enterprises have grown manifold under Modi in Gujarat under Crony Capitalist schemes and they may grow even more - at the cost of the common man and the Indian tax payer. Meanwhile, IT companies and exports are under tremendous pressure as the Rupee value increases unrealistically.
(11) Full-scale saffronisation of school text books has begun under Smriti Irani, the HRD Minister who is following the footsteps of the previous BJP HRD Minister Murli Manohar Joshi, who sought to overhaul the present education system and replace it with a saffronised curriculum. Smriti met with RSS pracharak Dinanath Batra, notorious for harassing Wendy Doniger before her book "The Hindus: An Alternative History" was recalled by Penguin.
 http://www.firstpost.com/politics/return-of-saffron-textbooks-whos-behind-smritis-plans-1557779.html
(12) Modi Sarkar is already blotted by a number of dubious appointments especially of  Smriti Irani who apparently misrepresented her educational qualifications in her affidavit with her Lok Sabha nomination papers. None of the major media houses are calling for propriety i.e. the removal of Smriti Irani for providing false information on LS nomination papers - and why are we not surprised by that....Then there was an appointment of Nripendra Misra through an ordinance adding to the string of controversies.

Yes, Bure din aa gaye for India, the BJP and Delhi within just ten days of the formation of Modi Sarkar: The Badaun rape/murder, spates of rapes and murders across the nation, Maharashtra riots, Delhi power cuts and dust storm, countrywide heat wave, the accidental death of Gopinath Munde, the murder of BJP leader Vijay Pandit and the sidelining of experienced, scheming leaders like Advani-M.M.Joshi-Swamy and all this in the first ten days of assuming power - Yes, Hum sabko Maar, Modi Sarkar!
Jitendra Singh dented the sheen of the new government’s first day in office by stating the process of discussion had begun on abrogation of Article 370, which provides a special status to Jammu and Kashmir. - See more at: http://www.theindianrepublic.com/tbp/reflecting-pm-modis-first-week-office-100037978.html#sthash.0Tk8guUf.dpuf

  2. I am firmly opposed to the repealing of Article 370. Yes, it is not fully foolproof and should be reviewed to make it more effective. We need to keep Kashmiri sensibilities in mind as they are our brethren and compatriots - something which the BJP and RSS fail to recognise due to their narrow-mindedness. Do not remove Article 370 instead make suitable changes in it. You don't chop off your hands because your nail polish is bad or do you?

  4. The blog is immature and i regret coming here.i will remain anonymous simply because i do want to be associated with this crap.....Rupee value increased unrealistically ...just check the graph for the last four years..maybe you might get enlightened. Smriti Irani has lied...period...how many of the previous ministers have lied, cheated and what else...let's hope she performs that's all that's required.we live in a Hindu country ,let's learn to accept, follow and understand them even if it is our text books, rather than criticize. The dust storm and the heat wave... you need to grow up...this is nature ..do not blame the new government.LASTLY I AM A Christian and this country needs a government that performs not a government that appeases every Tahir,Dick and Hari. You should have been a Christian born in Pakistan...maybe you would have more wisdom.

  5. Just wasted 10 minutes of my life reading this blog. Lot of content is not backed by any reference. I can really counter argue and rip apart this blog. But I will choose not to do so because I sense you are a rookie blogger.

  6. Stop crying mr author. I am surprised you didnt say Karachi Airport attack was carried out by Modi. People of India have elected Modi. You will have to deal with him. Sorry bud!

  7. Vivek you are absolutely right. Wait and watch further many more to come.

  8. People who criticised Manmohan Singh were not abused as much as those who criticise Modi. Suddenly, the post of PM has become sacred. Nice to get so many reactions and the adverse reactions prove my point of what endangers India. India is becoming more and more like Pakistan and that's what we detest - and if people want to wear blinders like horses..let them wear it. I have a right to my views and they have a right to theirs. Moreover, I could have littered my blog with references if possible include links that show how Modi supervised and masterminded the 2002 riots - and why he should be hanged. Sadly even many christians and muslims have been brainwashed into accepting fascist viewpoints - but somehow people who post as "anonymous" cannot be believed (that the person behind the post was Christian when he dares not reveal his name in cowardice)

  9. Brilliant post, Vivek. I choose to be anonymous not because of cowardice, but whimsically. Shame on the fascists who passed such brutish comments on this post. Most of them have posted around 3 to 4 am at night and so probably they belong to the American RSS brigade propped by Subramanian Swamy with New York as their base. As they are Indians living abroad (NRIs), they have no right to comment on Modi Sarkar and bloggers living in India. And, what references are they asking for...each of your point has been headline news on TV channels and online websites. Has Modi said anything about the murder of the Pune Techie...shows how communal and sadistic he is...This is a well compiled blog post. BTW, even I feel that the nasty poster is not a Christian although he she claims she is...otherwise he is just another RSS stooge. Even I have read that the rising rupee is bad for teh ruppe and IT cos who rely on exports and BPOs - Fantastic blog.

  10. Count me in on the list of people who feel that the nasty poster who claims to be a Christian is not a Christian but rather an RSS impostor. Another wonderful post from the great author Vivek. From a British perspective, I agree with Vivek's subsequent comment that India is gradually turning into another Pakistan and with 'Modi Sarkar' at the helms, it will accelerate into this state. What's the difference between the Taliban and the Hindu Rashtra Sena? They are both religious fanatical entities who murder innocent persons from a different community.

  11. All those passing vile comments against Vivek, please remember that he has presented the facts beautifully. The truth is always bitter - and so you might react in the way you do. The "nasty poster" even said that it was OK for ministers to lie in affidavits. And one comment claimed that Modi BURE DIN are because of acts of mother nature. Then why did Modi promise ACCHHE DIN to voters during his election campaign when he cannot control mother nature. STUPID FASCISTS

  12. Please expect a reply from the "Nasty Poster" only at about 3 am because he is in America busy trying to create a Hindu Rashtra there. Is he a part of the American branch of the Hindu Rashtra Sena? One wonders...

  15. Yo Vivek, if you have proof to prove that Modi was mastermind of Gujarat riots then why didnt you submit them in Supreme Court? Why didn't you whistleblow? Get a grip over reality my man. Supreme Court didn't find anything against Modi. Congress rule could have nailed Modi but they could not corner him. People of India have voted. I am secular but I think this issue should be put to rest now. There has been no riots after 2002 in Gujarat. Why don't you bring up Sikh massacare in Punjab that was done under Congress rule? Muslims and Hindus clash till date in UP. Why didn't ya'll make noise all these years? Get a grip over reality. I would also request you to do some detailed research over article 370. It is really a discriminatory law. It should be scrapped.

  16. Yo Vivek is right, man. There is tons of evidence and witnesses against Modi to nail him in the Gujarat riots - The SIT team that investigated did a shoddy job due to a mix of incompetence, intimidation and complicity. Narendra Modi held a meeting with rioteers giving them a free reign and a meeting with cops telling them to go soft on the rioteers. Two Gujarat ministers controlled the riots from police control rooms. When rioteers attacked Gulbarg Society, a helpless Zakia Jafri phoned to Modi for assistance, he was greeted by abuses - 69 people were killed in that incident. Zakia Jafri, widow of Jafri, has now furnished mobile phone records to claim that Modi along with his six close aides visited their neighbourhood, Meghaninagar, just a day before the murderous mob attacked their house. Besides, Modi is not just accused in the riots but also in fake encounter killings, corruption, crony capitalism, unlawful espionage, etc So, you check your facts before making baseless accusations against poor Vivek.

    1. Please prove this theory. I guess you are competent than SIT team. I encourage you to submit your claims and findings in Supreme Court. Modi is here to prove ya'll wrong.

    1. If proof is available, then instead of sitting on your comfy couch, please submit those proofs in court against Modi. I voted for change. I voted for development. I voted for coalition free stable government. If this government disappoints, I will be disappointed. But I did my duty. Why don't you do your duty if you feel so strongly against Modi? Get off your couch and submit your "PROOF" to cops and court. BTW, I can publish links on internet saying you were mastermind behind 2002 riots. Google will pick that up. It is simple SEO.

  18. I seriously doubt that you voted at all and are posting from the US. It is quite shameful that you are trying to pin the masterminding of Guj riots on others and give Modi a clean chit when he is clearly involved. Shows your mentality. Pathetic.

    1. As I said, prove it or deal with Modi government. I am an Indian citizen fyi. I vote. I am still waiting for you to submit your "PROOF". Woof woof. Not.

  19. "By sheltering and shielding law breakers responsible for 2002 Gujarat massacre related crimes, SIT [has] deviated from the foundational ideals of the Constitution of India." Read the entire proof of Modi's complicity & SIT's ineffectiveness (highlighted in yellow and red) in this article with contirbutions from Sreekumar and Sanjiv Bhatt, top police officials during the riots http://www.sabhlokcity.com/2013/09/strong-evidence-about-the-sits-lack-of-professional-integrity-or-competence/. Even M J Akbar, BJP s main spokesman, wrote an article which stated that “Narendra Modi supervised a pogrom against Gujarati Muslim”, called it a genocide and siad that "no further proof was required" Read the article at http://archive.thedailystar.net/2005/03/23/d50323020324.htm Now you can stop barking.

time is still there, learn to be patriotic, patriotism is owning Hinduism and hindu culture not following the footsteps of the west, if you don't rectify your path and stop slandering mr.modi,then.....each one of you would be cast out of the country..times have changed,my friend; you need to change too!

  22. Firstly, thanks a ton to all of you for your comments on this post. I feel nothing but pity for those like the last person who commented on this post. He is disillusioned and brainwashed by his co-fundamentalists into believing that India is some kind of Hindu Kingdom ruled by a right-wing Maharaja i.e. Maharaja Modi where there is no accountability, no rule of law (as in the case of the murder of the Pune techie), no rights & priveleges for minorities (who are second-class citizens or outcasts), etc. This only reveals the extent of his education, fascist mindset and inability to spell my name "It's Pereira not Perreira' - and it is apparently the same RSS guy who tried to impersonate as a catholic in the third post (A catholic dancing to the tunes of the Hindutva brigade)!
