Dear Anna Hazare

Dear Anna Hazare,

I congratulate you on the success of your anti-corruption drive but I would like to warn you of the pitfalls on the road ahead.

Please do not keep people of dubious credentials in your commitee as your commitee members, just like Caesar's wife, must be above suspicion. If you wait till they are indicted in a court of law then you are using the same arguments used by our politicians.

Please do not target just the political class as there are other sections of civil society plagued by corruption such as religious institutions, educational institutions, business organisations, NGOs, and even that section entrusted with maintaining the law and order in our country.

Also, we need to note that certain industries such as Shipping and Building might collapse altogether if confronted with the issue of corruption.

And, please do not accept support from any opposition party in your anti-corruption drive as this disease is not party-centric. Some of these parties extend their support to you as if they have returned bribes received from Enron. One national party has not even returned the money it received from Tehelka during a sting operation pertaining to a Defence scandal.
