A Writer's Journey
I did show the poems I had written to Nissim Ezekiel who encouraged me to print a booklet. I made about twenty copies of this tiny booklet and distributed to friends and relatives. Later on, I compiled an even bigger manuscript comprising of poems, short stories and essays. However, I soon realised the content could be considered libelous as the views were extreme and my blatant personal attacks on contemporary political figures could land me in trouble. And there was the problem that most of our big publishers had their offices and contact persons in Delhi and other Northern cities. So, I gave up the idea for a while until the new winds of change swept across our world. Yes, even printing the manuscipts was difficult as there were several constraints like long working hours, rigorous travelling and lack of support. I switched from the world of accountancy to the world of writing four years ago when I started working as a content writer at Ugam Solutions. I got married to Venessa while I was still at Ugam Solutions. I have moved on since then and I now work as a content developer for an E-learning company.Yes, the journey of this writer continues on the long, winding path of life.

Hey, sorry for boring you with the facts of life. I suppose that's why fiction is more interesting since most of the incidents could happen but very rarely.
ReplyDeleteI would say that's very tactful of you...to first bore us down with the sorry facts (not all, though) of your life and then apologize
ReplyDeleteI was just trying to earn some brownie points!
ReplyDeleteBut many a times non-fiction works out wonders maybe coz the reality is felt by the readers..just like how it was felt after reading this post
